Michelle Payne is a writer and director from Essex with a passion for creating work for & about working class people, 13-25 y/os and breaking the "Essex Girl" stereotype.
Michelle's most recent work has been developed & supported with ALP & Aria Entertainment, PPA, Donmar Warehouse, Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. and Havering Changing.

Enthusiastically, Yes by Payne & Webb will be showcased as part of ALP & Aria Ents Chamber Musical Concert on 4th October at the Garrick Theatre in the West End.
Michelle has recently finished writing & directing The Liberators at PPA for the third year Acting for Stage & Screen final show. Before this she was working with the Donmar Warehouse and director Sacha Wares on Future Forms, researching and trialling new forms of theatre-making. Her participation project Your Story, which brought together professional performers and emerging writers in the London Borough of Havering was completed with the support of Havering Changing in July 2021.
In April 2021, Squad Goals became a published play text & is currently available to purchase from Salamander Street. Her most recent play The Liberators will also be available from Salamander Street with a date TBC.
