MICHELLE PAYNE is a published playwright and director from Essex with a passion for creating work for & about working class people, 13-25 y/os and breaking the "Essex Girl" stereotype.
Michelle's most recent work has been developed & supported with Theatre Peckham, ALP & Aria Entertainment, PPA, Donmar Warehouse, Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. and Havering Changing.

Michelle has most recently collaborated with Havering Youth Council, Thames Park Secondary School and Havering Changing.
NEWS
Michelle has recently made the short list (1 of 8 directors) for the RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award 2022.
Michelle is currently under commission from I.E Productions (Matt Cole & Morgan Large) for a new dance play.
Michelle is due to begin as resident director on the UK Tour of Bugsy Malone in July 2022.
Michelle is actively seeking writing & directing (or assistant/associate/resident) work.
