Personality Hire is a 70-minute one-woman musical about female ambition, authenticity and influencer

culture.

We meet aspiring business mogul, Alison Wallace; CEO of her own online wellbeing brand, on the eve of her

30th birthday in her local dive bar. A ‘chance’ meeting with a researcher from a reality TV business show

offers her a deal with the devil - to sign over her company to the show whilst maintaining her role as the

face of the brand in order to become the UK’s most famous business influencer.

She updates her fans on an exciting opportunity coming her way. Her productivity and follower

count is looking super healthy & ticking along. The follower count increases live on stage as the

show progresses. She is dropped into the intense process of the TV show, and we see her both in

real time and in the televised edit - answering questions with the question, divulging her life’s most

embarrassing moments and biggest wins so far.

As she approaches the final she’s lost sight of herself and her followers which sparks

online debate questioning Alison’s identity, values & voice.

This pop musical is a cautionary tale about authenticity, for young women with big

dreams, big goals and the desire to be your truest self.
